Abstract: There is a growing awareness of the importance of Information Technology in achieving the goals as set out in Millennium Development Goals (MDG). The constant changes in knowledge and skills required for effective application of Information Technology makes it imperative for tertiary institutions in developing countries to prepare skilled manpower to meet the necessary challenges. This study examines the information technology curriculum in Nigeria, and compares it with that of the United States of America. The results allow us to determine the competitiveness of Nigerian graduates in the global market.
