Prior to his current post at Yokohama National University Pof. Managi taught at South Carolina State University, USA and Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Japan. He is a Research Fellow for START and Consultant for CSR Institute. He is a special issue editor of International Journal of Agricultural Resources, Governance and Ecology. He holds a M.S. in civil engineering from Kyushu University, Japan, and a Ph.D. in economics from University of Rhode Island, USA. Professor Managi' research has focused on diverse areas of environmental economics and policy, including examinations of: policy instrument choice; competitiveness effects of regulation; diffusion of energy and environmental technologies; and depletion of natural resources.
