Dr. Vikram Murthy is Director of the Academy for Collaborative Futures, an institution that aspires to promote purposeful collaborative inquiry between academe and industry on authentic leadership repertoires for prevailing times. To this end, he works with business leaders, academics and practitioners in Australia, New Zealand and internationally, to research future business challenges and craft anticipatory leadership practices. Dr. Murthy has over thirty years of ownership, board executive, senior management, and independent consultancy experience in the high-technology, retail, and not-for-profit community sectors in a number of countries, including the United States, UAE, Oman, New Zealand, and Australia. He has a Bachelor (Honours) in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, and a Master’s and Doctorate in Management from the Waikato Management School, where he was also the inaugural recipient of their “Outstanding Doctoral Candidate Award.” His book, Please don’t stop the music: An ensemble leadership repertoire for productive sustainability, and strategic innovation in uncertain times, was released in September 2009 and is the reference text for executive leadership programmes at some universities in New Zealand. Most recently, his theory of zeitgeist leadership practices have been featured as a chapter in Hossain and Selvanathan's (2011) publication, Climate Change and Growth in Asia. Dr. Murthy is an Adjunct Senior Fellow of the Waikato University, where he lectures on leadership in their MBA and MBM programmes. He regularly speaks at industry, practitioner and academic conferences and gatherings across the Asia-Pacific region. He is also on the International Advisory Board of the World Association for Sustainable Development. He has also been Adjunct Associate Professor of AUT University, Auckland, New Zealand, and visiting overseas faculty to BITS, Pilani, India.
